Little library of foraged inks

Angie Arsenault

Lumière Festival exchange artist

Victoria Park

In this installation the artist invites visitors to make drawings from inks that she made from foraged plants, highlighting the potency of the botanical lives that exist on the periphery of our everyday experiences.

Angie Arsenault is an artist and researcher who practices deep noticing and a sensual engagement with the natural world. Using Ann Laura Stoler’s concept of “imperial debris” as a lens through which to view ruination in the urban and rural built environment she engages with concepts of value, stewardship, memory, botanical life, ruination, detritus, survival, folk wisdom and storytelling. She holds both a BFA (2004) and MFA (2017) from NSCAD University.
