Soil Steams invites visitors to contemplate the possibilities of co-healing with human and non-human microbial bodies through a sensorial experience around soil. Using steam, the objects created by the artist transform soil into remedial matter.

Serina Tarkhanian (b. 1989, Montreal) is a Canadian-Armenian artist, designer, and researcher whose work explores contemporary issues around care and the social conditions of health and well-being. Through a design/anthropological approach, they investigate the relations between embodied knowledges, their rituals, materiality, and design to shape performances, installations, and objects around notions of collective care. Their on-going research focuses on the reimagining biomedical care in the context of microbial health equity. They are a PhD Fellow at The Oslo School of Architecture and Design and hold a Master of Arts in Social Design (Cum Laude) from the Design Academy Eindhoven.
